The Procedure

Upper Eyelids: A very small incision is hidden in the natural skin crease to remove excess skin and fat. Dr. Toft uses a special subcuticular stitch that leaves no marks on the eyelid. When necessary, he will also perform ptosis repair and additional enhancements.
Lower Eyelids: Dr. Toft typically makes a small incision that is hidden under the lower lashes so that he can remove excess skin. He chooses the transconjunctival technique - which utilizes an incision inside the lower lid - to remove excess fat. Dr. Toft can combine these techniques with laser resurfacing to smooth wrinkled skin.

Your Recovery
How long your eyelid surgery will take depends on the extent of your procedure. Dr. Toft uses minimally invasive techniques to ensure a smooth and comfortable recovery.
Most eyelid surgery patients only need pain medication for about a day following the procedure. Your energy should be back within 3 days of surgery, and you should be looking good after 1 week. Although each patient's skin and healing speed are different, bruising is usually completely gone within 2 weeks.
